Welcome Letter and Application

Welcome Letter and Application from our WPC Treasurer

Thank you for your interest in joining Woodside Pony Club, a chapter of United States Pony Clubs, Inc.  I’m the club’s treasurer and will work with you on everything related to finances. Cindy, Karen, and Lora joint District Commissioners, who will work with you on everything related to horses and lessons. Emma is a former DC and a fantastic resource to our club, as well.

United States Pony Club (USPC) lessons and certifications are offered for 17 Disciplines including EventingWestern Dressage, Mounted Games and 13 others.  See instructors and clinics section (ADD LINK TO WPC WEBSITE) for current lesson offerings through Woodside Pony Club.

The USPC places great emphasis on Horse Management,  dismounted lessons which teach personal responsibility and independence, encompassing essential horse care skills in health, maintenance, nutrition, and handling.  WPC strives to offer weekly Horse Management classes for multiple levels. Membership dues and fees  go to National, Regional, and Woodside organizations to help fund instructional materials, events, programs, insurance, certifications, and facilities.

Please fill out the USPC applicaiton form for each new member and return the originals with signatures on the first and second pages to me as soon as possible (USPC insists on original signatures, not scans or copies). Upon receipt I will send you an invoice via QuickBooks, which you can pay via credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or check. One of the DCs will add you to TeamSnap to help keep you informed of club events and opportunities.

Lessons range from $30 to $105, based on instructor experience and qualifications. Instructors skill levels include certified, coached Pony Club Members refining their teaching skills, nationally ranked riders, and former Olympians – all highly skilled in their disciplines. WPC offers both private and group lessons.

Woodside Pony Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We depend upon community donations to provide limited scholarships, subsidize lessons, and maintain and improve Kiely Equestrian Center at 3375 Tripp Rd. Recent facility improvements include installation of a dressage court, purchase of dressage rails, and maintenance of fences, trees, and drains. We would appreciate your consideration as you plan your charitable giving for the year. (Add link to WPC Fund raising page)
